When I first started working out, I was extremely overwhelmed by how much information was out there. I was honestly scared away from supplements just because there were SO many to choose from and I had no clue where to begin! This is why I am sharing my top three supplements for all new gym goers. This will be a great starting point for those of you who want to delve into the supplement world, but may need a little guidance with where to start!
My top three suggestions are the following:
- (Pre-workout): take 20-30 minutes prior to exercise
- (BCAA): take during exercise
- (Whey Protein isolate): take within 30 minutes of completing exercise
The most crucial window for taking supplements and seeing the best results starts 30 minutes before a workout, continues throughout the duration of your workout, and ends within 30-45 minutes after you finish. This explains why I have chosen the three above supplements as top recommendations.
Taking a pre-workout supplement will improve your workout, and will also enhance the results that you see when it comes to strength and the appearance of your physique. Key things to look for in a pre-workout are ingredients that will help you get a “pump,” have more energy, and achieve a strong sense of focus. Ingredients such as Creatine, Caffeine, Agmatine suflate, Arginine and Beta-Alanine are commonly found in pre-workouts and will deliver this desired energy and focus. ETB Uncaged Pre Wrokout Formula is packed with all of these ingredients and works great for me!
Drinking BCAAs during a workout is proven to be highly effective. “BCAAs” stand for Branch Chain Amino Acids, which are the building blocks to protein. These amino acids aid in muscle recovery as well as building lean muscle! My choice for a BCAA product is ETB because it has not one, but two grams of glutamine while most formulas don’t!
Consuming Whey Protein Isolate (try free samples) immediately after working out is imperative! Pure Whey Isolate is Whey protein in its purest form, and it is the highest quality protein you can take. Since Whey isolate is so pure, it absorbs easily, and helps refuel your body. I suggest finding a protein isolate that contains minimal ingredients, as well as low fat and carbohydrate content. For me personally, I am lactose intolerant and highly sensitive to gluten, so when I choose a protein isolate, I make sure that it is lactose-free, gluten-free, and non-GMO. This is why I choose ETB Pure Whey Isolate Protein (try free samples), because they offer a product that is exactly that!
I know supplements can seem overwhelming, but the key is to remember that what you take before, during, and after your workouts is most crucial! My top 3 recommendations will help you get set up for success so you see better, faster results!
